Starting June 4, USCIS has reopened its field offices. They will only receive people for non-emergency face-to-face services.
USCIS is re-opening some field office locations but are introducing restrictions to help minimize risks for people visiting their offices.
Visitors will not be permitted access under the following circumstances:
Additionally, other restrictions include preventing anyone from entering the office for a scheduled appointment more than 15 minutes prior to their appointment time. The only exception to this would be appointments for an oath ceremony for naturalization, in which case entry is permitted up to 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
Face coverings will be required by all visitors. Hand sanitizer should be provided at every entrance.
USCIS will be installing clear instructions about physical distancing and similar protective measures, including health screening measures. It is important that you pay close attention to these guidelines at all times and follow the instructions of the immigration officers.
If you had a scheduled appointment or naturalization ceremony that was impacted by the temporary closure of USCIS offices then you should receive a notice to re-schedule. Applicants are encouraged to contact their local office to check if it has re-opened prior to arrival.
